Understanding Dementia - Activities & Occupation (Competency Training) - 35 min
Welcome to the Activities and Occupation course of the Understanding Dementia series. This course has been designed to provide you with an introduction to what dementia is, the causes and effects of dementia, and how it can affect people.
This course, 'Understanding Dementia 4: Activities and Occupation', will cover:
- the importance of providing activities for people with dementia and keeping them occupied
- how to provide appropriate kinds of activities
- the importance of being part of care planning and the review process, and
- the value of reminiscence through activity.
A Certificate of Completion is issued on successful completion of the course and you are required to get an 80% pass mark to be deemed as understanding the content. It is recommended that training is conducted every 2 years to stay refreshed.
